Today was the day that I have been looking forward to throughout the trip and it did not disappoint at all. It was a harsh day and tested my resolve. we climbed to the high street and what views we saw. Geordie although very tired from his day 1 and nursing atrocious blisters completed the day with out complaint, well when i say without complaint, he did complain all day. Firstly he said " you said pip,we were going onto the high street, I havent seen a Kfc, a Pub, nothing, you lying Bxxxxxx". secondly all I then heard all day was " are we there yet" He was tired and he had to call on all his reserves to complete the day. When you are training (not that he did much except go on holiday and walk around like a beach bum wearing flip flpos and eating and drinking) nothing can prepare you for the different terrain, weather and conditions you face on a trek like this. Still we staggered in late and only moved from the bar to shower and change. The owner of the Mortal man Garry and kate and toby who ran the bar were brilliant hosts. They would not let us pay for our food or drinks. fantastic generous and we were made to feel extremely welcome, thank you all for a Fantastic stay and I will certainly be coming back. Tomorrow we have a 24 miler again, but having looked at the maps it looks as though we might well be doing over 27 miles oh DEEP JOY.
