It was with mixed feelings when i set off today. I was still feeling a bit raw from yesterday's news, but at least i had a chance to walk off some of the pain I was feeling.
Yesterday I walked into the gables hotel in Gretna for a lunch and was asked by the staff what I was doing for M.S. After I explained the manageress came out wishing to put a link from my blog page onto the hotel facebook page where they had 2500 followers, they on top of doing that did not allow me to pay for my lunch. Many thanks for that the gables, not only were they generous the location was excellent.
During my walk into carlisle i met an ex soldier who has his own blog page called pull up a sandbag and he has advertised my blog details on there.Thanks Phil for doing that and I hope we catch up soon.
I wanted to walk by the river into carlisle but as ever nothing is straight forward. The river had a big tide the night before and the route even though I tried to go by was inpassible, so I was once again forced to trog by road DEEP JOY. On the plus side I was meeting Geordie who is walking with me for the next 5 day's, and I got a chance to see Annette Geordies good lady for a brief spell. The day turned out fine again.
Tomorrow Geordie and I are off to penrith, yea ha are we there yet, bye chap's and Chapesses
