The walk was a long slow and painful day, the weather was good but the route was hilly. a Plus point was a car stopped me on the A9 and it was penny ( the lady who finished her trek from lands end ) and her husband. We had a chat and they were on there way, but it was moral boosting all the same. Hats off to you penny, well done indeed.
today was all about beating the A9 and the lunatic drivers that pocess the road. today I was nearly wiped out when a car decided to overtake a lorry and then realised I was there, missed me by a matter of a foot. I know where I would like to stick that foot.
The A9 is tedious and could be soul destroying. Im glad I leave when I do as I can get a few miles in the bank before the lunatics come out to play.
There is not a lot to say about the journey, you cant spin a good tale from just pounding tarmac, so let,s talk about my land lady.
Ann Mae of custom's house B& B is lovely. She is about 75 and cannot do enough for you. The room was on the second floor with a shared bathroom with the rest of the house, Lol just as well I was early as I was in the shower straight away.
I asked ann how much for the room and as I was not having breakfast it would be £15.00, I said please take 20, she replied, I'm no happy bt that 15 is still 15 not 20. bless her, there were more biscuits in the room than i could get for £15.00. So any one staying in Helmsdale go to Customs house in the harbour and stay there, it was great and so was ann.
My feeet gave me great concern during the evening as I could hardly walk on them, but the following morning on I tabbed, sympathy I can't hear any. I know I know sympathy not known at this address LOL, oh by the way I dont have spell checker on this so all I will say is XXXXXXXX
Tomorrow is more road walking but I have been told I can walk on the beach from Brora, I will let you know tomorrow, nighty nite Chap's and Chapesses
