FINISH TIME 1345 HRS

TOTAL DISTANCE 17.96

Well the first day is over, yea ha done and dusted. So what happened, not a great deal, it was at least a side road that avoided the A9 the dreaded A9, although tomorrow i have no choice but to join it after 13 miles, that i am not looking forward to. On a plus side today I passed a lady called Penny who had walked from lands end, what an achievement. we had a chat for about 15 mins and she is well chuffed and so she should be.

The route today was road walking , but the weather was very good and i strolled the distance not wishing to let get carried away on adrenelin, not that I need adrenelin to be excited about life and the trek.

Amazingly I had no phone reception yesterday in the hotel, however 3 miles into no man's land i got a call from phil,. Astounded I was for I had a full signal, fathom that out and tell the hotel to move location.

4 milkes into my tab i passed a gent who was fixing his roof, well he wasnt on his roof and neither was I, however he was standing by the road, waiting for me. well when I say he was waiting for me that's not strictly true, he was at the end of his garden, leaning on his fence. Anyway I digress, i spoke to him, in fact he spoke to me first cos he looked a bit strange, but then so do i, who am i to judge. he was an ex matlow ( navy for you civvies out there) I told you he looked strange. A mile further down the road this car screeched to a halt behind me and out he got. Hmmmm I know you are proberbly thinking he took offence to my wit ( sarcasm ) but pray tell he had not, he produced a fiver albeit scottish and donated to the cause. What a great bloke he is..

so what else happened oh yes another car stopped, ( its only country lanes ) an old boy was in it. he switched off his engine wound down the window and spoke. I looked on in amazement as he proceeded to tell me his name and his family history. When he said he was Irish i thought here we go, but it transpired that his whole irish clan had infested everywhere, rabbits spring to mind but hey ho. He finished his family history and drove off, I dont think i said a word. 5 minutes of my life disappeared in a flash.

Well I arrived in Watten and I am about to partake in an idle one, of course this is medicinal.Tomorrow I am off to Dunbeath, oh oh oh  i forgot to say I thought I had taken 2 classic photo's today but I had not, I actually had it on video and was filmimg my feet walking ( with my help of course, they hadn't left me ), now i know what you are thinking, what was so cool on the floor for me to take a photo, nothing nothing nothing. I thought i had taken a photo and then left the camera on thereby filming my feet. I'm good at technology. Oh Oh Oh i did take a video and it should be loaded tonight. yea ha roll on tomorrow and the A9
